Christopher Spray

Dr Christopher Spray is a Professor in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Loughborough University, where he has been affiliated since 1999. His career spans over 30 years, including 11 years as a physical education (PE) teacher before transitioning to academia. Spray holds advanced qualifications including a PhD from the University of Exeter, alongside professional credentials such as Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) and Fellowships from the British Psychological Society (AFBPS), British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (FBASES), and Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

His research focuses on the psychology of PE and youth sport, particularly motivational strategies, teacher behavior, and student outcomes.
