Kelly Ozust serves as Director of the Dance Program and Assistant Professor of Dance at Winthrop University's College of Visual and Performing Arts. She holds an MFA in Choreography from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and a BA in Sociology from the University of Georgia.
Her creative research explores:
- Narrative storytelling through movement
- Community-engaged performance practices
- Historical reconstruction through dance
- Musical theatre pedagogy
- Vernacular dance preservation
As choreographer for Winthrop's annual musicals and director of the Winthrop Christmasville RockHettes, she integrates performance with community traditions. Ozust maintains professional connections through master classes at institutions including Piedmont University, Colorado State University, and Lindenwood University.
