King’s College Londonمعرفی
Professor Katya Rubia is a leading academic in Cognitive Neuroscience at King's College London (KCL), specifically within the Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She holds a Professorship and oversees research on neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, ASD, and OCD, alongside normal brain development. Her work integrates neuroimaging (fMRI, PET), pharmacological studies, and neuromodulation techniques like neurofeedback and transcranial stimulation.
- Affiliations: Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience; NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC)
- Education: PhD in Neuropsychology from Ludwig-Maximilians-University (1994), BA in Philosophy & Psychology from Complutense University of Madrid (1987)
Her research explores brain mechanisms underlying ADHD, focusing on structural and functional imaging, pharmacological interventions, and neurotherapeutics. Key projects include the ATTENS study investigating external trigeminal nerve stimulation (eTNS) for ADHD. She has authored over 250 publications, emphasizing neuroimaging abnormalities in psychiatric disorders and therapeutic innovations.
Research Highlights:
- Neuroimaging of ADHD-related brain dysfunctions and their pharmacological modulation
- Development of neurofeedback and non-invasive brain stimulation therapies
- ENIGMA consortium collaborations for large-scale psychiatric disorder studies
Awards: Kramer-Pollnow Prize (2013), Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spain membership (2019), Highly Cited Researcher (2019-2020).
Grants & Labs: NIHR funding for ATTENS; leads multidisciplinary teams in neuroimaging and clinical trials. Active in translating discoveries into clinical tools for pediatric psychiatric disorders.
