Dr. Timothy Nicholson is a Clinical Reader in Neuropsychiatry at King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, affiliated with the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre. His research examines neuropsychiatric aspects of Functional Neurological Disorders and COVID-19 cognitive sequelae.
His educational background includes a PhD in Psychiatry from King's College London, BSc in Human Biology from UCL, MBBS from UCL, and MSc in Human Biology from the University of Oxford.
Research focuses on three primary domains: neurobiological mechanisms of functional disorders, cognitive impacts of post-viral syndromes, and therapeutic interventions including transcranial magnetic stimulation. His work integrates neuroimaging, clinical trials, and qualitative methodologies to advance neurological care.
