Katrina Knight is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at the University of South Dakota. Her research focuses on identity and culture in the Roman and post-Roman West, particularly societies marginalized after the collapse of the Western Roman Empire. She holds a PhD and MA in Ancient History from Emory University, alongside degrees in classical studies, medieval/early modern studies, and Roman archaeology.
Her current research includes a manuscript comparing post-Roman Britain and Ostrogothic Italy in the 5th–6th centuries, and explores classical reception in film/fiction, Roman frontiers, and disaster in antiquity. She has published in Limina: A Journal of Historical and Cultural Studies and presented at conferences such as the Antiquity in Media Studies Conference (2024).
Her teaching spans Greek/Roman history, European Middle Ages, classical art/archaeology, and classical languages.
