Katrina Dickson is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Classics at Emory University, where she has held roles including Director of Undergraduate Studies and Senior Lecturer. She earned her Ph.D. in Ancient Art (Greek and Roman) from Emory University in 2002, focusing on Roman art and Agrippina Minor. Her academic career spans teaching, research in classical art and archaeology, and extensive leadership in undergraduate education.
Her research interests include Roman imperial portraiture, ancient art history, and pedagogical innovation. She has advised numerous honors theses and mentored students in classical studies, archaeology, and interdisciplinary projects. Dr. Dickson has been recognized for her teaching and mentorship with awards such as the Berky Dolores Abreu Spirit Award (2017) and multiple Phi Beta Kappa recognitions.
She has served on committees for departmental governance, academic advising, and museum education initiatives. Her professional affiliations include the Archaeological Institute of America and the Classical Association of the Midwest and South. She has also contributed to public-facing projects, including consulting for Marvel Studios on linguistic accuracy in historical contexts.
