Kathy Reimer is a Professor of Education at Goshen College, serving as Director of Elementary Student Teaching and Department Chair. She specializes in preparing teachers through culturally responsive pedagogy and international educational experiences.
Her educational background includes a PhD and MA in Curriculum and Instruction/Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, Linguistics training at Georgetown University, and a BA in Elementary Education/TESOL with Bilingual/Bicultural certification.
Dr. Reimer's research centers on literacy development, children's/adolescent literature, and cross-cultural teaching interventions. She has conducted international research at the University of Newcastle (UK) and University of Auckland (New Zealand), integrating global perspectives into teacher education through Study Service Term programs in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Tanzania.
Her professional recognition includes:

Active in professional service, she leads the Goshen Public Library Board as President and serves as Vice President of the Center For Community Justice Board, while maintaining memberships in the National Council of Teachers of English, Children’s Literature Association, and Indiana Association of Colleges of Teacher Education.
