Kathy G. Short is a Professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Sociocultural Studies at the University of Arizona. She specializes in children’s and adolescent literature within diverse societies, focusing on global literacies, intercultural understanding, and curriculum development as inquiry. Short directs Worlds of Words: Center of Global Literacies and Literatures, which promotes cross-cultural connections through children’s literature. She has held leadership roles as President of the U.S. national section of the International Board of Books for Young People and the National Council of Teachers of English.
