Kathryn McCrorie is a Teaching Professor at the Strathclyde Institute of Education, University of Strathclyde, since 2019. Her role integrates teaching, mentorship, and research in social studies education, with a focus on curriculum design and pedagogical innovation.

Her research centers on mentoring relationships in Initial Teacher Education (ITE), student resilience in higher education, and transdisciplinary approaches to social studies curriculum. She leads practitioner enquiry initiatives and contributes to sustainability education aligned with UN SDGs.
Recent publications highlight her work in transdisciplinary ITE, resilience literature reviews, and culturally responsive teaching. She co-leads the Professional Learning Through Enquiry course and participates in the Collaborative Writing Group for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL).
Professional activities include roles as Subject Implementation Manager (SQA, 2019-2023), Principal Teacher (Fife Council, 2011-2018), and contributions to national education policy through GTCS collaborations.
