Katherine Bridge is a Lecturer in the Department of Biology at the University of York. She holds research fellowships including the Centre for Future Health Research Fellowship and the KKL Fund Intermediate Research Fellowship. Her work focuses on understanding hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF-1) regulation, tumor microenvironment dynamics, and molecular mechanisms in cancer progression. Key projects include studying the role of LIMD1 in HIF-1 signaling and investigating epigenetic changes in breast cancer under hypoxic conditions.
Bridge's research has been supported by grants from the MRC and BBSRC, including a current project targeting sodium signaling in tumor hypoxia. She is actively involved in professional organizations such as the International Society for Experimental Hematology and the European Haematology Association, contributing to committee roles and working groups.
Her publications highlight advancements in HIF-1 regulation, protein interactions, and therapeutic strategies for LIMD1-deficient cancers. Collaborations span institutions globally, with recent studies exploring hypoxia's impact on gene expression and stem cell function. Her work bridges basic biology with clinical applications in cancer treatment and hematological disorders.
