Mei Y. Koh is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Her research focuses on solid tumor hypoxia, particularly in kidney and liver cancers, and investigates the roles of hypoxia-inducible factors (HIF-1 and HIF-2) in cancer progression and therapy resistance.
Research Interests:
- Mechanisms of tumor hypoxia and its impact on cancer therapy
- HIF-1 and HIF-2 signaling in kidney and liver carcinogenesis
- Role of Hypoxia Associated Factor (HAF) in the HIF switch
- Immune microenvironment modulation in hypoxic tumors
- Ferroptosis as a therapeutic strategy for clear cell renal carcinoma
Recent Publications: Mei Y. Koh's work spans hypoxia biology, tumor-immune interactions, and molecular mechanisms of cancer progression, with a focus on HIF signaling and novel therapeutic targets like ISCA2 and SART1/HAF.
Education:
- B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Manchester
