Kate Roberts is an Assistant Professor of Art and Assistant Chair in the Department of Art and Design at the University of Memphis. Her work focuses on ceramics and ephemeral, mixed-media installations exploring themes of mortality and spatial existence. She holds a B.F.A. (2010) and M.F.A. (2015) from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
- Affiliations: Board of Directors at Studio Potter.
- Residencies: Archie Bray Foundation, Anderson Ranch, La Meridiana (Italy), Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris), Watershed Center (Maine), and others.
Exhibitions: Works featured at Tampa Art Museum, Frick Museum (Pittsburgh), Everson Museum (Syracuse), and international biennials such as the 10th Korean International Ceramic Biennial. Recent installations emphasize unfired clay’s transient nature, challenging traditional ceramic permanence.
Professional Activities: Lectured at University of Washington and University of Wisconsin. Current residency initiatives include exploring ephemerality at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts.
