Dr. Kate Riera is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) at the University of Delaware. She specializes in human services, focusing on improving well-being through partnerships with individuals, youth, and families. Her teaching spans counseling, mentoring, and relationships, with a commitment to innovative instructional methods and equitable learning communities.

Dr. Riera’s research centers on family health and well-being, parenting transitions, and marginalized families—including Latinx and immigrant communities—with a focus on mental health, suicide prevention, and youth mentoring.
