Dr. Kate Hardy is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. She is co-director of the INSPIRE clinic and director of INSPIRE training, focusing on early psychosis intervention and dissemination of evidence-based practices. Her roles include leadership in professional organizations such as IEPA, where she serves as President Elect (2024–present). Dr. Hardy holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Manchester (2001), a doctorate from the University of Liverpool (2007), and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at UCSF (2012).
Her research interests center on cognitive behavioral therapy for psychosis (CBTp), early psychosis care models, and improving access to coordinated specialty care (CSC). She co-edited the book Intervening Early: A Team Approach and has developed training programs for clinicians, families, and staff. Her work emphasizes integrating psychological expertise to balance quality and accessibility in mental health services.
Recent publications address pediatric access to early psychosis programs, clinician training challenges, and neurobiological studies of schizophrenia. Awards include a 2009 fellowship from the Community Academic Research Training Alliance (CARTA). Dr. Hardy’s contributions span clinical leadership, training initiatives, and policy advocacy, aiming to expand equitable care for individuals with psychosis.
