Barbara Stuart

Barbara Stuart is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. She is affiliated with the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences and focuses on clinical high-risk for psychosis, schizophrenia, and neuroimaging research.

Her research explores brain imaging in early psychosis, thalamic dysconnectivity, auditory cognitive training, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) applications. She also investigates trauma's role in mental health and co-authored articles on cortical and subcortical abnormalities in schizophrenia.

Her recent publications examine normative modeling of brain imaging data, brain age gaps in psychosis, and the use of ketamine as a pharmacological model. Key themes include structural and functional connectome organization, telemental health protocols, and cognitive remediation in schizophrenia.
