Ms. Kate Ellis is a Senior Lecturer in Construction, Property and Surveying at the School of Built Environment and Architecture, London South Bank University (LSBU). She holds dual expertise as a legal professional and academic, having practiced law in Guernsey post her call to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 2008. Her roles include Equality Disability and Inclusion Lead, Health and Wellbeing Lead, and Academic Lead for Construction Law at her school.
Education:
- LLB (Hons) Law with French (2:1), 2005–2006
- PG Dip in Professional Legal Skills (BVC), 2007–2008
Research Interests: Focuses on advancing gender equality and female participation in senior professional roles within the construction industry. Her work integrates legal expertise with advocacy for inclusive practices, currently co-authoring Law and the Built Environment (Wiley-Blackwell). She collaborates on interdisciplinary research projects and peer reviews applications for Higher Education Academy Fellowships.
