Kate Doyle is an Assistant Professor of Music in the Department of Arts, Culture & Media at Rutgers University-Newark. Her work explores experimental approaches to form, process, and poetics in creativity and consciousness, examining art forms as models for engaging with embodied cognition. She focuses on the edges of knowledge and paradox in everyday experience through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Research Interests:
Professor Doyle's practice traverses disciplinary boundaries with emphasis on:
- Cybernetics and complex systems (#NewMacy collective)
- Experimental expression and conversation (The Reading Group)
- Performative archiving practices (Lucia Dlugoszewski archives)
- Dynamic analysis of artistic works through dialogue
Collaborations & Outreach:
She co-organizes #NewMacy (cybernetic collective) with Paul Pangaro and runs The Reading Group workshop with Damian Chapman, Patricia Machado, and TJ McLeish. She has led workshops at institutions including:

- Australian National University School of Cybernetics
- University of the Arts London
- Berliner Festspiele's MaerzMusik Festival
Teaching:
Dr. Doyle instructs courses in world music and experimental music/art/performance.
