Kasper Dyrberg Rand

Kasper Dyrberg Rand is a Professor and Group Leader of the Protein Analysis Group at the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. He has held this professorship since 2021, following his appointment as Professor MSO in 2017, Group Leader in 2012, and Associate Professor in 2011.

Education:

Professor Rand's research focuses on Bioanalytical Chemistry and Protein Analytical Chemistry, with particular expertise in analyzing protein primary structures using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC-MS), examining higher-order protein structures and molecular interactions through hydrogen/deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS), and developing microfluidic systems coupled to mass spectrometry. His work bridges analytical chemistry, biochemistry, and pharmaceutical sciences, with applications in biopharmaceutical development and characterization.

His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on advancing HDX-MS methodology, protein characterization techniques, and applications in antibody research, vaccine development, and biopharmaceutical analysis. The research spans analytical chemistry, structural biology, immunology, and glycobiology, with particular emphasis on developing novel analytical tools and approaches for protein characterization.

He leads the Protein Analysis Group within the Section of Analytical Biosciences at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen, focusing on developing and applying advanced analytical techniques for protein characterization, particularly in the context of biopharmaceuticals and therapeutic proteins.
