Kara Deal Gamble serves as an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing at the University of Alabama School of Law, teaching first-year students since joining the faculty in 2020.
Her educational background includes:
- B.S. from Liberty University, summa cum laude
- J.D. from University of Alabama School of Law, cum laude (Acquisitions Editor of the Alabama Law Review)
Professor Gamble's professional expertise centers on civil litigation, with specialized focus in employment law, consumer protection, and financial services litigation. Her scholarship is informed by practical experience as Associate Editor of the treatise Age Discrimination in Employment Law and extensive courtroom practice.
Her pre-academic career featured clerkships with the Florida First District Court of Appeal (Honorable Susan L. Kelsey) and the Supreme Court of Alabama, followed by three years at a Birmingham civil litigation defense firm. Between degrees, she taught math-in-English in Zarqa, Jordan.
Professor Gamble actively contributes to the legal community as an officer in the Women’s Section of the Birmingham Bar Association.
