Emily Price is an Assistant Professor of Legal Research and Writing at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. She joined the faculty in 2020 and holds a JD (magna cum laude, 2008) from the University of Alabama School of Law and a BA in Journalism and English (summa cum laude, 2005) from the University of Alabama. Her professional experience includes litigation of qui tam cases, a clerkship with Judge Abdul K. Kallon of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, and advocacy in domestic violence legal clinics during law school.
Her teaching and research focus on legal writing pedagogy, supported by her award-winning excellence in teaching. She has expertise in First Amendment law, healthcare law, construction law, and general litigation. During her legal education, she served as a senior editor of the Alabama Law Review, was elected to the Order of the Coif, and participated in the Jessup International Moot Court Team.
Awardees include the prestigious Harvey S. Jackson Award (2022-23). Her career bridges academic instruction and practical legal experience, with prior roles in litigation and judicial clerkships. She has contributed to legal initiatives addressing domestic violence through clinical work and has maintained a diverse litigation practice background.
