Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schlaeger is a Senior Professor at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin's Centre for British Studies. He has held various academic positions, including Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Universität Konstanz (1976–1995) and Director of the Centre for British Studies (1995–2008). His career spans over five decades, marked by significant contributions to British literature and cultural studies.
