Julie Arnott is a Lecturer in Health Protection and Infection Prevention and Control at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, since November 2021. She holds a BSc in Public Health, a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Protection, and an MPH in Epidemiology from UCC, and is currently a full-time PhD candidate there.

Research Interests: Mental health, maternal and perinatal health, pandemic outcomes (focusing on COVID-19), and infectious disease surveillance. Current projects include the ULTRA maternal health study in Tanzania and the COVICAT study on pregnancy outcomes during the pandemic.

Teaching & Curriculum Development: Programme Director for the Postgraduate Certificate in Health Protection at UCC. Leads modules on Health Protection, Infection Control, and Global Health. Implements UCC's Connected Curriculum and Universal Design for Learning principles, emphasizing real-world case studies and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Collaborations: Works with INFANT (Irish Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research), National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre (NPEC), and international partners like the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (Tanzania) and the European congenital anomaly surveillance (EUROCAT) network.
