Juliana French is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Marketing at Monash University Malaysia. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing (2017) from the same institution, focusing on race, religion, and consumption behaviors of Malaysian women.
Her research emphasizes intersections of culture, politics, and consumption, particularly in marginalized Asian communities. Key areas include consumer culture, gender dynamics, and politicized consumption. She teaches advanced qualitative research methods and marketing theory.
Recent projects include studies on women's roles in aging societies, rural entrepreneurship, and multicultural coexistence. She leads initiatives funded by grants from Seoul Metropolitan Government and Monash University.
Publications span journals like Journal of Macromarketing and Business & Society, with a focus on interpretive qualitative research. Notable works address femvertising controversies, AI in qualitative studies, and post-pandemic consumer behavior.
