Julian Panetta is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Breadth at the Melbourne Law School (MLS), The University of Melbourne. He joined MLS in 2013 as a sessional tutor and became a Teaching Academic in 2016. His roles include teaching across undergraduate, postgraduate, and master’s programs, including the MLS Tax Clinic, Corporate Law, Taxation Law I, and Breadth courses like BLAW20001.
- Education: LLB (Hons) & B.Com (Acc) from University of Adelaide, GDip (Leg Prac) from ANU, Melbourne Teaching Certificate (University of Melbourne).
His research and professional interests span legal education, commercial law, and taxation law, informed by his dual career as an academic and practicing commercial solicitor. He has worked as an ATO litigator and in private and in-house legal roles. Julian leads the Legal Academic Skills Centre and contributes to MLS committees, including the Undergraduate Committee (2020). He is affiliated with the Melbourne Centre for Commercial Law and Murrup Barak.
He holds memberships with the Law Institute of Victoria and Golden Key International Honour Society. His teaching and administrative roles reflect his commitment to legal pedagogy and interdisciplinary collaboration.
