Professor Julia Richardson leads Curtin University's School of Management and Marketing as an internationally recognized expert in 21st-century careers. With a PhD from University of Otago and global HRM experience across four continents, her research examines career sustainability, flexible work practices, and global workforce mobility. Recent work focuses on:
- Reconceptualizing work-life boundaries in digital workplaces
- Career plateau management strategies
- Immigrant worker wellbeing
- Professional identity in changing industries
Her publications demonstrate applied research with accounting professionals, dual-career couples, academics, and athletes. Award-winning contributions include the Verity International Award for management research excellence. Richardson has directed over 50 funded studies for organizations including the European Commission and UK Cabinet Office, developing evidence-based approaches to workforce challenges. She advises New Zealand's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and designs executive education on leadership development and organizational culture.
