Judy Schultz is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology within the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences at Washington State University, where she teaches sport science courses and leads research initiatives to enhance STEM engagement and instructional practices.
Her educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Washington State University
- Ph.C. from the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington
- M.Sc. in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo
- B.S. in General Studies (interdisciplinary major combining psychology and kinesiology) from the University of Washington
Dr. Schultz's research examines kinesiology lab projects' impact on high school STEM engagement, higher education instructional improvement, movement planning disorders, and psychomotor behavior. Her work bridges kinesiology with educational methodologies to foster student engagement and scientific literacy through hands-on learning experiences.
Her scientific recognition includes the ASBMB HOPES grant and LIFT Fellowship, both supporting innovative educational approaches. As a LIFT Fellow, she implements evidence-based teaching strategies to improve student retention and learning outcomes under WSU's Transformational Change Initiative.
She teaches Motor Development, Motor Learning and Control, Assessment, Sport Philosophy, and Sport Psychology while integrating service animal initiatives—bringing Canine Companions for Independence hearing dog in training 'Chai' to classes to enhance campus wellbeing.
