Judith Lane

Dr Judith Lane is a Senior Lecturer in the Dietetics, Nutrition & Biological Sciences, Physiotherapy, Podiatry & Radiography Division at Queen Margaret University (QMU). She holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Professional and Higher Education from QMU. Her roles include teaching research methods, professional practice development, and dissertation supervision. She previously led the MSc pre-registration Physiotherapy programme for a decade, ensuring successful revalidations. Dr Lane pioneered the MSc in Clinical Research to enhance research capabilities among Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). She also serves as the South East Scotland Hub Leader for the Council for AHP Research, fostering research collaboration between clinical and academic sectors.

Her research focuses on orthopaedic outcomes, particularly total knee replacements, with collaborative work at the University of Edinburgh. She emphasizes quantitative methods and patient-reported outcomes in her studies. Dr Lane is a registered physiotherapist (HCPC) and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
