Josiane Fernandes is a Lecturer in Marketing at the Management School, Lancaster University, focusing on ethical and responsible market organization aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She leads modules in Responsible Markets and Business-to-Business Marketing. Her research explores marginalized economies, such as Brazilian favela tourism, and sustainability in energy and food markets. She has published in the British Journal of Management and Journal of Business Research.
Key grants include CAPES (Brazil), LUMS Scholarships, and British Sociology Association grants. She advises PhD students Ellie Dolmor and Sarah Wiggins. Recent projects include agrivoltaics, aquaculture market research, and Scottish salmon market studies. She is affiliated with the Academy for Gender and Social Justice in Organisations and contributes to editorial roles in Marketing Theory and Journal of Business Research.
