Dr. Leighanne Higgins is a Senior Lecturer in the Marketing Department at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). Her research focuses on Marketplace Accessibility (barriers faced by disabled individuals in retail, healthcare, and tourism) and Sacred Consumption (religious pilgrimage behaviors and affective experiences). She leads the Marketplace and I initiative, an art-based project addressing disability access through stakeholder engagement and accessibility training workshops. She teaches MKTG101 and MKTG225 courses in consumer behavior.

Her work bridges consumer vulnerability studies and sacred consumption, with collaborations involving NHS Lancashire, charities, and policymakers. She advises PhD students on disability access and pilgrimage studies.
