Dr. Jordan Beaumont is a Lecturer in Food and Nutrition at Sheffield Hallam University's Sheffield Business School, part of the Social and Economic Research Institute. He holds a PhD in electrical brain stimulation for eating behavior modulation and is a Registered Nutritionist (Public Health) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His roles include leading food and nutrition modules at postgraduate level, supervising dissertations, and leading the Sheffield Hallam Appetite Research (SHARe) cluster. He also serves as a Visiting Lecturer at Leeds Trinity University.
His research focuses on eating behavior, appetite control, obesity, and health inequalities, employing both quantitative and qualitative methods. Notable projects include exploring the psychological impact of obesity perceptions, the role of green spaces in South Asian communities' wellbeing, and transcranial electrical stimulation for appetite modulation. Dr. Beaumont has secured collaborative funding with national/international groups and public health bodies.
