Anna Hall is a Lecturer in the Department of Service Sector Management at Sheffield Hallam University since 2008, serving as Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Nutrition Diet and Lifestyle and BSc (Hons) Nutrition and Public Health. She holds a BSc (Honours) in Nutrition Health and Lifestyle and an MSc in Nutrition and Public Health Management from the same institution, complemented by a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
Her research focuses on weight management strategies, behavior change methodologies, and the role of dietary fiber and seaweed in appetite control. Notable projects include the Small Changes and Be Active programs, investigating incremental lifestyle modifications. She has presented at conferences such as the Psychology of Eating Conference and contributed to professional bodies like the Association for Nutrition (AfN), where she served on committees from 2014–2020.
In teaching, she delivers modules like Communicating Nutrition and Health Messages, Epidemiology of Diet and Disease, and Nutrition in Context. Her work bridges academic research and practical application, with studies published in journals like European Journal of Nutrition and Journal of Functional Foods.
She has led initiatives like the SBS Food and Nutrition Student Society as Academic Lead (2015) and contributed to peer-reviewed publications spanning seaweed bioactivity, sports nutrition, and public health interventions.
