Professor Jonathan Harris KC (Honoris Causa) holds dual affiliations: he is a Professor of International Commercial Law at King’s College London and a Senior Research Fellow in Law at Jesus College, University of Oxford. He also serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford Commercial Law Centre and practises as a barrister specialising in cross-border litigation at Serle Court, London. His academic journey began at Jesus College, where he earned undergraduate and BCL degrees, followed by roles at the Universities of Birmingham and Nottingham before joining King’s College.
Research interests focus on Private International Law and Equity and Trusts. He co-edits the Journal of Private International Law and is general editor of Dicey, Morris and Collins, The Conflict of Laws. He contributes to policy through membership of the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law.
Awarded Queen’s Counsel (Honoris Causa) in 2016, his work bridges academia and practice, with notable engagements in international commercial litigation and scholarly contributions to private international law. He oversees editorial series like the Oxford Private International Law Series and maintains active participation in legal education and advisory roles.
