Jonathan (Jon) Evans is an Assistant Professor in the Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Division at the UBC Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. His research focuses on leader curiosity, transparent influence tactics, self-deprecation in leadership, and counterproductive workplace behaviors. He holds a B.S. from Brigham Young University, an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona.
Research interests include exploring how power framing impacts exploration, gender dynamics in humor at work, and the intersection of race and workplace anger perceptions. His work bridges organizational behavior, leadership studies, and workplace ethics.
Recent publications analyze active vs. passive counterproductive behaviors, racial stereotypes affecting women’s anger expressions, and humor’s gendered evaluations. Courses taught include Leadership (MM Classic) and Advanced Topics in Organizational Behaviour (PhD).
