Jon Shelton is an Associate Professor of Democracy and Justice Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He teaches courses on American education, labor, and politics, and his research focuses on the intersection of education policy, economic opportunity, and political realignment in the United States.

Dr. Shelton’s book, Teacher Strike! Public Education and the Making of a New American Political Order (2017), explores the role of urban teacher strikes in reshaping American political dynamics. His work has been recognized with a first book award from the International Standing Conference for the History of Education and funded by the NAEd/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship.
