Anthony Shelton is a Professor in the Department of Art History, Visual Art & Theory at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Director of the Museum of Anthropology (MOA). He holds an Associate Membership in the Department of Anthropology. With 24 years of experience, Shelton specializes in museology, cultural criticism, and the anthropology of art and aesthetics. His leadership spans roles at institutions like the British Museum, Royal Pavilion Art Gallery, and University College London.
Research focuses include Mexican and Andean visual culture, critical museology, and the history of collecting.
