Jon Paul Dante

Jon Paul Dante serves as Artist Faculty for Trumpet at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST), National University of Singapore, and Section Principal Trumpet of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra since 2013. Previous orchestral appointments include Section Principal Trumpet of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, New Mexico Symphony Orchestra (7 seasons), and Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra (4 seasons), with guest principal roles across Asia's premier ensembles.

Dante's research and artistic focus centers on trumpet performance across classical, film, and contemporary genres. As founder of the award-winning Paramount Brass Quintet, he has pioneered brass chamber music through extensive touring and recordings. His creative work spans arranging, composition for brass ensembles, and cross-genre collaborations including ska and film soundtracks.

He maintains active educational engagements through global teaching residencies and faculty positions at institutions including the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and New Zealand School of Music. Dante endorses Bach Stradivarius piston trumpets (Conn-Selmer) and Scherzer rotary valve trumpets (B&S Scherzer), contributing to instrument development while performing on major commercial recordings and film scores like 'The Hobbit 2: The Desolation of Smaug'.
