Low Jia Hua

Low Jia Hua is the Managing Director of the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra and an Adjunct Lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic. A graduate of the pioneer batch of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST), he has held key roles in Singapore's arts sector, including Orchestra Manager of the Singapore Festival Orchestra (SFO) and leadership positions at the National Arts Council (NAC). He co-founded B5Brass, Singapore's first professional brass quintet, and has contributed as a freelance performer, consultant, and project manager.

Education: Bachelor of Music from YST Conservatory, National University of Singapore.

Research interests focus on fostering collaboration among music professionals and driving innovative cultural initiatives. He emphasizes the role of the arts in community sustainability and has shaped policies through his work with NAC's Major Grant schemes and music development committees. His career reflects a dedication to bridging artistic practice with institutional and community impact.

Current roles include leading the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, established as the successor to SFO during the Singapore Arts Festival's rebranding. He actively engages with YST's alumni network, viewing it as a vital resource for professional development.
