Dr. John Posada Duque is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Delft University of Technology, specializing in integral sustainability for the biobased economy. He holds a PhD (cum laude) in (bio-)chemical process design from the National University of Colombia (2011). His career includes postdoctoral research at Utrecht University (2011-2014) and senior researcher roles at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development (2014-2015).
His research focuses on techno-economic, environmental, and social sustainability assessments for biorefineries, emphasizing the integration of sustainability pillars. He coordinates the course Design of Sustainable Biotechnological Processes for Life Science and Technology bachelor students.
