John Palfreyman

John Palfreyman is an Associate Professor in Digital Strategy at the Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds, where he contributes to undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education programs. He combines his academic role with part-time consultancy through Palfreyman Ventures.

His research focuses on digital transformation, strategic agility, and the business applications of emerging technologies such as blockchain, Metaverse, and artificial intelligence. He also explores organizational culture, cybersecurity, and non-executive director development.

John was invited to join the editorial board of the journal Advances in Knowledge-Based Systems, Data Science, and Cybersecurity, reflecting his standing in the field. His professional experience includes a full-time career at IBM, where he led digital innovation initiatives in government and public sector organizations globally.

He holds an MSc in Applicable Mathematics from Cranfield and an HND in Engineering from The College, Swindon. He teaches modules in Strategy for Business and Digital Business Transformation and delivers guest lectures on Metaverse, Business Blockchain, and Risk Management.

John is actively engaged in professional development and innovation, with affiliations on LinkedIn and ResearchGate, and contributes to thought leadership in technology-driven business strategy.
