Dr John Moffat is an Associate Professor at the Durham University Business School, specializing in policy evaluation, productivity analysis, spatial economics, and labour economics. His research examines regional economic dynamics, innovation systems, and post-industrial challenges in the UK. He holds a PhD and has taught at Swansea University before joining Durham in 2013.
His work explores how spatial proximity influences firm productivity, the impact of subsidies on manufacturing efficiency, and the role of universities in regional knowledge transfer. Recent studies address pandemic effects on intangibles investment and the London productivity advantage.
