Professor Richard Harris is a prominent academic at Durham University's Business School, affiliated with the Department of Economics. He holds degrees from Queen's University Belfast, Lancaster University, and the University of Kent. Previously, he served as Alec Cairncross Professor of Applied Economics and Director of the Centre for Public Policy for Regions at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on gender bias in UK Higher Education, productivity analysis at the firm and regional levels, and the evaluation of government industrial policies. He has authored numerous books and articles, including influential works on regional economic policy and TFP measurement.
