Deniz Sevinc

Dr. Deniz Sevinc is an Assistant Professor in Industrial Economics within the Department of Management at the University of Birmingham's Birmingham Business School. She is a member of the Business and Labour Economics Group and serves as the Early Career Editor for the leading journal Regional Studies (ABS 4*).

Dr. Sevinc's research focuses on labour economics, income distribution, and regional economic development, with strong applications in development and international economics. Her work addresses critical issues such as multidimensional poverty, regional qualification gaps, and the socio-economic impacts of policy changes like Brexit and clean air zones. She employs both theoretical and empirical methods, including machine learning and synthetic control approaches, to evaluate public policies and regional disparities.
