John Lane is an Associate Professor and Director of the Theater Arts program at Duquesne University since 2005. He also serves as Executive Director of the Duquesne University Red Masquers and Resident Director of the Medieval and Renaissance Players. With over 120 directed productions across Pittsburgh-area theaters, he has collaborated with renowned figures like August Wilson and Sir Alan Ayckbourn. His work spans medieval plays, technical theater, and community engagement.

- M.A. in Production, Performance, Direction and Design, University of Pittsburgh (1985)
- B.A. in Theater and English, West Virginia Wesleyan College (1982)
Research & Professional Contributions: Lane specializes in theater direction, medieval/renaissance drama, and student mentorship. He has directed productions for companies like the Pittsburgh Public Theater and Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, touring in the U.S. and Europe. His work emphasizes community theater and student placement in professional roles.

Leadership & Service: Board President of Gemini Children's Theater, Board Member of Pittsburgh New Works Festival (Play Selection Manager), and member of Duquesne's Grievance Committee.
