John Feaster is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Rowan University's Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts. He has been teaching there since 2010 and served as Department Chair from 2017 to 2023. Holding a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, his research focuses on communication technology's role in interpersonal contexts and communication meta-theory. He has published widely on media affordances, gratification niche theory, and media use patterns.
His notable works include studies on interpersonal media competition, information control in communication channels, and media's role in social outcomes.
