Angela M. Cirucci is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Rowan University's Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts. Her research focuses on digital media, data infrastructures, identity, privacy, and the societal impact of technology, particularly on underrepresented communities. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from Temple University.
Dr. Cirucci explores how digital platforms shape identity and privacy through projects like analyzing 'privacy-washing' in tech commercials and studying feedback loops in social media algorithms. She teaches courses such as Digital Media Processes and Social Media Strategies. Her publications span academic journals and books, addressing topics from Zoom's identity affordances to gender norms in pop culture.
