Celine Hong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Relations & Advertising at Rowan University’s Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism and an M.A. from Michigan State University. Her research focuses on the impact of computer-mediated communication on public perception, with specialties in social media, public health, crisis communication, and computer-mediated persuasion. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and presented at leading conferences such as ICA, NCA, AEJMC, and IPRRC.
Dr. Hong’s work bridges theoretical and applied communication studies, addressing topics like pandemic crisis management, green participation strategies in hospitality, and Fortune 500 social media engagement. Her grants include a $146,000 Camden Health Research Initiative Grant (2019) and multiple STORI awards. She teaches courses on social media management, public relations research, and media analytics.
Her research emphasizes practical implications for health interventions, corporate reputation management, and ethical communication during crises. Recent studies explore platform migration behaviors, influencer effects on social media, and wearable technology adoption linked to health beliefs.
