John Allen is a Professor of Biosensors and Bioinstrumentation at Coventry University's Centre for Intelligent Healthcare. He previously served as a Visiting Professor at Newcastle University and held roles such as Clinical Scientist specializing in microvascular assessment. His research focuses on vascular optics, photoplethysmography (PPG), and AI-driven medical technologies. Allen has pioneered clinical-grade microvascular measurement facilities and leads a growing research team collaborating with institutions like ETH Zurich and A*STAR Singapore.
