Johan Lundin is a Professor at the Department of Applied IT, Faculty of Information Technology, University of Gothenburg. He holds a PhD in Informatics from the same institution. His research focuses on how information technology transforms learning and educational practices, with emphasis on mobile IT, AI in education, and sociomateriality of competence management systems.

Research Focus: Conducts empirical and design-oriented studies on IT in educational practices, competence management, and mobile learning. Current projects include "The Missing Teacher In AI" exploring teacher agency in AI design.
Key Collaborations: DigitaL project with University West and Region Västra Götaland; national graduate schools GRADE and UP-GRADE; and international initiatives like the Virtual Clinic study.
Scientific Contributions: Co-authored 200+ publications on digital textbooks, AI fairness, and sociomateriality in education. His work bridges theoretical frameworks (activity theory, metadesign) with practical implementations.
