Elin Alfredsson is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of Gothenburg. She holds a psychologist license since 2012 and completed her PhD in 2018. Her primary affiliations include the Center for Progress in Children's Mental Health and Region Västra Götaland's Central Child Health Care. She is actively involved in research projects funded by Forte and the Swedish Research Council (VR).
Education:
- Psychologist Programme at University of Gothenburg (2006–2011)
- PhD in Psychology (2011–2018)
Research Interests: Parenting interventions, child development, mental health prevention, shared custody effects, and pandemic impacts on families. She leads the long-term follow-up of a preventive home visiting program in disadvantaged areas and studies socioemotional development in shared custody families.
Teaching: Courses in developmental psychology, psychopathology, and clinical interventions for psychologists, psychotherapists, and professionals working with families.
Grants & Projects: Currently leading projects funded by Forte (2024–2028) and VR, focusing on long-term outcomes of preventive programs and shared custody dynamics. Collaborates with Lund University on family structure impacts.
Labs/Teams: Engaged with child health care units in Region Västra Götaland and the City of Gothenburg's 'Equal City' initiative.
