Johan Axhamn is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Lund University's Department of Business Law, affiliated with the Lund University Centre for Business Law (ACLU) and AI Lund research network. His expertise spans intellectual property law, market/competition law, EU law, and IT law, with a focus on data-driven innovation, digital markets, and artificial intelligence.
His research includes legal frameworks for knowledge-based assets and digital transformation. He leads the European Researcher Network on Fairness in Digital Markets and Artificial Intelligence (FIDMA) and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Nordic Intellectual Property Law Review. He has held visiting positions at Columbia Law School, University of Amsterdam, and University of Oslo.
Awarded significant outreach roles, Axhamn has served as Vice Chair for EU Council's intellectual property working parties during Sweden's EU Presidencies and advised the Swedish government on IP matters since 2012. He has supervised hundreds of theses and two doctoral candidates while pioneering AI integration in educational policies.
